National Career Counsellors Network Career Hackathon’19 concludes successfully

New Delhi, 14th December 2019: The first-ever event of National Career Counsellors Network Career Hackathon’19, the platform for the students and Career Counsellors & Schools, concluded today. During the event, eminent Edtech practitioners and top thought leaders from renowned schools shared insights on what it takes to thrive in today’s K-12 scenario. The Career Hackathon’19  also provided an ideal platform for networking among student and school fraternity.

Ms Sunanda Rao, General Secretary National Career Counsellors Network, and Ms Kavita Rai, Co-Founder Conccept & Project Manager Career Hackathon’19  had the honour of inaugurating the conference and welcoming all the delegates and speakers to the one-day conference.

In the opening address, the guest of honour Prof Group Captain O P Sharma Director General MUIT shared the perspective of TEAM and shared the practical guidance on being a team performer.

In the keynote address, Mr Shantanu Prakash, The Education Guru, Trustee Millenium Schools shared the insights on Radical Shift from STEM to STEAM.  In his interactive session that also includes quick questions and answers on Industry 4.0, 21st-century skills communication and creativity. Mr Prakash shared the steps to strive in the new age careers, with the unique discipline-specific focus of education calls for children to not only be analytical but creative as well during the process. He also shared the young listeners how to create a personalised action plan are some of the key highlights of the keynote address.

In the Career Talk, Mr Joachim Keferstein Head of Department in Ministry of Education NRW, Germany (Retired) shared the Worth of Life Skills & emphasised on  Adaptability, Critical Thinking, Communication & Creativity  and the secondary virtues


Day saw a series of  masterclass which delved deep into aspects of the theme such as,

· You are the director of your career

· How to beat the stress of Exams

· How to hack the brain with the help of mind mapping tools to learn effectively & save time during exam preparation.

· Careers in Augmented & Virtual Realties & Sports

· Discussions around Draft Education Policy

Career Hackathon’19 also witness Principals of various schools participated in Battle of minds on the topic  Role of Schools in Career Planning using the external schools and young students shared their perspectives that what do they expect from schools to overcome the pressure of Coaching Classes.

In the closing session for the day, Karmayogi Mr Ravi Kalra offered incisive insights into Humanity and the value of upbringing as he narrated few cases of the cruelty of kids towards their old age parents!


The day concluded on a glamorous note with the NCCN  Excellence Awards ceremony. The awards handed out in five different categories which recognised students, schools, Individuals, MSME and Foundations for their pioneering and innovative practices that impact not just society but also schools, society and the fraternity as a whole.


Speaking about the conference, Ms Sunanda Rao & Ms Kavita Rai said that,  This is the beginning of the Career Hackathon. They aspire to take this to most coveted students and schools networking and learning platform where global thought leaders and top industry leaders will share critical insights and best practices concerning to reform the Career Guidance system. This event and the platform it provides is indispensable in today’s Career guidance scenario where change is the name of the game and the old metrics & scales used to measure performance or satisfaction levels are fast becoming obsolete. NCCN will continue to provide platforms where knowledge and tools for the betterment of the Career drive can be shared. And in 2020 it will reach to Vishakhapatnam, Bhubaneswar, Pune and New Delhi.
