DTU suspends a third of its M.Tech Programmes over ‘poor admissions’

According to information obtained by The Indian Express, the Delhi Technological University (DTU), previously the Delhi College of Engineering, has "suspended" more than a third of its master's programmes for the academic year 2022–2023 due to "less number of admissions."

At least ten of the 26 M.Tech. programmes DTU offers will not be offered this year since only one-half of the authorised seats in the ten programmes were filled.

The MTech in Bioinformatics, Industrial Biotechnology, Hydraulics & Water Resources Engineering, Geoinformatics, Geotechnical Engineering, Microwave and Optical Communication Engineering, Control and Instrumentation, Power System, Production Engineering, and Thermal Engineering are the ten programmes that collectively offered about 250 seats. Two of these programmes are from the department of biotechnology, three are from civil engineering, two are from electrical engineering, two are from mechanical engineering, and one is from electronic and communication engineering.
