Ramjas School R.K.Puram Nursery class celebrated World Environment week through virtual classes

New Delhi 5th June 2020 : Ramjas School R.K.Puram Nursery class celebrated World Environment week through virtual classes.

Environment day doesn't mean caring for environment only on that day, it is caring everyday so we decided to Celebrate it in a week long program. World Environmental Day is a great opportunity for families and individuals to spend some time focusing on how they can lead greener lives. Everyone needs to work together for a cleaner world. Children were made aware about their surroundings and how to keep it clean. Different activities done in environment week were *Newspaper folder making which aimed at recycling and reusing.

*Napkin folding- A life skill activity was undertaken for reducing usage of tissue and foil papers.

*Rhyme Recitation- "Kisne banaya phoolo ko" created awareness of what are the components of natural environment.

*Story "The thirsty crow". Children were told to keep water and food for birds and stray animals.


About World Environment Day : World Environment Day (WED) is celebrated on 5th of June every year, and is the United Nations' principal vehicle for encouraging awareness and action for the protection of the environment.

First held in 1974, it has been a flagship campaign for raising awareness on environmental issues emerging from marine pollution , human over population, excess usage of natural resources


and global warming, to sustainable consumption and wildlife crime.

World Environment Day has grown to become a global platform for public outreach, with participation from over 143 countries annually. Each year, WED has provided a new theme that major corporations, NGOs, communities, governments and all celebrities worldwide adopt to advocate environmental causes.
