My K12 Story, Journey So Far : Ms. Aashima Gandhar, Educator at Salwan Public School, Gurugram

SHARING AN INSPIRING AND EVENTFUL JOURNEY OF MS. AASHIMA GANDHAR- A PASSIONATE EDUCATIONIST, AN EDULEADER AND EDUCATOR AT SALWAN PUBLIC SCHOOL, SECTOR-15, GURUGRAM, HARYANA.

I am educator with a passion for making a change in the life of the young learners. I am a quick learner, dedicated, hardworking, have a proven ability to create a safe learning environment, encourage continuous school improvement and a keen observer and Microsoft Certified Innovative Educator Master Trainer. I am myself a learner always and take things with a progression for learning.

My expertise lies in developing theme based-curriculum highlighting the experiential mark-ups and integrating it with quality education in delivering lessons and presentations, K-5 curriculum development, content writing, storytelling, teacher trainer and motivational speaker with a clear focus on socio-emotional learning, multiple intelligence and artificial intelligence and connecting to self and nature in the curriculum. My focus lies on child-cantered planning of the curriculum and following an open door approach to enhance their learning skills. I have positively touched several lives of several learners and have made a strong bond with each learner as a guide, motivator, a friend and an inspirer. According to me each child is equal but unique with different learning talents, styles and ways of developing and learning. A quote by Robert John reads my mind as an enthusiastic educator “Teaching children is an accomplishment; getting children excited about learning is an achievement."


During the lockdown period, when the whole nation, was at rest, there were several educators, facilitators, guides, motivation speakers; who stood upright and didn’t let this skulk upon them. They utilized this special time to enhance their skills in terms of technology, explorations, developing new hobbies and empowered the other faculties and colleagues. I was one of them. I attended a lot of certificate Workshops, webinars and gained a lot of knowledge in the field I admired. I received a few awards and certificates that not just added the feather in the cap but also added a sense of motivation. A few of them just made me more confident and added a sense of responsibility on my shoulders. A few of them are Microsoft Innovation Educator Master Trainer(2020-21), Acharya Vinobha Bhave Shikshak Samman 2020 by PSquare International, Education Icon Awards by Kites Education, Gurupnishad Samman by CWSIR(India), Certified Educator to conduct Virtual Classes(Training), A Torch Bearer Award for 2020 and a lot more. I attended a lot of workshops conducted by Microsoft, UNICEF, CBSE,ELT@I, Mind Mingle. I conducted workshops for teachers on Ed-Tech tools, Classroom Management, Handling behaviour and Socio-Emotional Learning in learners of the new age.


I began my teaching career with the schools like G.D Goenka Public School, Heritage Xperiential Learning School, and finally settled as an Early Years’ educator at Salwan Public School, Gurugram. This not only has added a varied range of expertise but working upon my skills is one thing I admire the most now. I connect at ease with the little learners making them more experienced. I enjoy being with the little learners. I believe in giving them the opportunity to explore experience and empower their own learning environment. Giving the learners opportunity to explore makes them responsible stakeholders. Errors and ambiguities are a way to notify that learning is happening.




Currently I am into teaching little learners and writing a book for the teachers on tips and tricks titled as “PEEK-A-BOO TO MY CLASSROOM” that contains tried and tested techniques of a happy classroom, effective student engagement and catering to hyperactive behaviour in the learners.


I enjoy painting, graffiti, making mandalas and gardening. Cooking and Travelling are all times favourite and stress busters for me. I recently learnt to cook Italian cuisine and Chocolate making. I prefer travelling by road and admiring the beauty that god created around.
