NEW DELHI: According to police, a 28-year-old private school teacher was detained for reportedly attacking a parking lot guard after being asked to pay a fee at PVR Priya in Vasant Vihar, southwest Delhi.
Vikram Jeet Singh, a resident of Meharuali, is the accused; he teaches physical education in a private school there, according to the accusers.
According to a senior police official, the injured parking valet, Vikas Thakur, was taken to the AIIMS Trauma Center with injuries to his right temporal region.
Singh parked his Honda Amaze at the lot about 7 o'clock, according to Manoj Kumar, another parking attendant, when questioned. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Manoj C, he returned about 9.30 pm inebriated.
Singh allegedly began verbally harassing Kumar when the latter asked him for 60 rupees to cover parking fees.
When Kumar's friend Thakur arrived, he also asked Singh to pay the fees. However, the suspect allegedly struck Thakur in the head with a bat before escaping in his car, Manoj continued.
At the Vasant Vihar police station, a case was opened under Section 308 of the Indian Penal Code (attempt to commit culpable homicide).
Singh was apprehended after the authorities tracked down the car's registration number throughout the investigation. Additionally, they seized the car and found the bat Thakur was attacked with.
Singh has been taken into prison by the court, the police noted.
