On the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Little Flowers Public School's students participated in Guinness World Record attempt where the made solar lamps at IG Stadium.They attempted a #GuinnessWorldRecord for the 'The most people assembling solar powered lamps simultaneously'.
In the mega event student solar ambassadors assembled their “Solar Lamps.” Thousands of students from different schools of Delhi-NCR gathered together for the initiative. The event was organised by IIT Bombay. Students were sensitized about the use of Solar Energy. They took the pledge for “Non-Violence towards environment” . Many Ministers were present for the event.
Among others, Mr Prakash Javedkar, Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Mr. R.K Singh, current Minister of State in the Government of India and Mr Praveen Garg, Additional Secretary at Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change graced the event by their presence. Together the students set the Guinness Book of World Record by assembling and lighting their own solar lamps as part of Global Student Solar Assembly. In essence, it was a great learning experience for both the students and the teachers
