Digital Platform Implemented In 194 Schools Under Cantonment Boards


NEW DELHI: The Defence Ministry announced on Friday that 194 schools in 15 states, managed by 62 cantonment boards, have adopted a digital platform. It stated that the purpose of this platform, the School Management System (SMS), is to provide "ease of life" for people who live in cantonment regions.

The system is currently designed to operate in English but is being further expanded to offer services in regional languages as well. According to a statement from the ministry, parents can use the SMS to submit an online application for school entrance, track their children's progress, file complaints, pay fees electronically, and more. According to the initiative's website, parents may now issue transfer certificates more easily because it is user-friendly.
