Delhi State CBSE Cluster Basketball Tournament at ‘The Mann School’

Delhi State CBSE Cluster Basketball Tournament was held from 28th September – 05th October 2019(Saturday to Saturday) under the categories of U-17 & U-19 Boys & Girls at ‘The Mann School’ in its 20 acre lush green and elegant campus. In this Mega-Tournament 3808 students from 143 CBSE Schools participated to prove their mettle as the young and energetic players of basketball. The matches were played simultaneously in 4 different Basketball courts of The Mann School. The teams were also provided with a well equipped 5th Basketball court to warm-up and for practice before the match. The essence of the tournament was focused on building up competitive spirit where children got to try out passing, dribbling and shooting the ball with their incomparable expertise. The young and enthusiastic players displayed their talents on the court and stunned the spectators with their level of inspiring sporting skills.

The Closing-ceremony of Delhi State CBSE Cluster Basketball Tournament at The Mann School took place on 5th October 2019 in the presence of honourable Chief guest Mr. Inderjeet Singh--Regional Officer, CBSE—West Delhi. The ceremony started with a great celebration and fantastic dance performances by the students of The Mann School. The Final Match was played between the teams of The Mann School and MM Public School, Pitampura under the category of U-17 Boys. Both the teams played very well in a neck to neck competition. The Mann School won the match by 48-44.

The match was telecasted live on the Facebook page of The Mann School. More than 900 devices watched the final match live. The tournament ended smoothly under the guidance of honourable Chairman of ‘The Mann School’ Mr. J.S. Mann and reverent Principal Commander V.K. Banga with a great support of parents, alumni, students and staff of The Mann School.

The Chief-guest Mr. Inderjeet Singh applauded the spirit of the young players. He also appreciated the way the matches were conducted by The Mann School. All the visiting teams cherished the hospitality of ‘The Mann School’ and the smooth conduct of the tournament. They also eulogized the lush green and pollution free 20 acre campus of The Mann School’.

The final results of the tournament are as follows:

1. Group : U-17 Boys

· The Mann School Vs MM Public School, Pitampura

Winner: The Mann School by 48-44

2. Group: U-17 Girls

· Bal Bharti Public School, Pitampura Vs G.D. Goenka, Dwarka

Winner: Bal Bharti Public School, Pitampura by 49-40

3. Group: U-19 Boys

· St. Giri Public School Vs Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan

Winner: St. Giri Public School won by 60-39

4. Group: U-19 Girls

· DPS Mathura Road Vs Modern School Barakhamba Road
