Delhi's director of education has requested CBSE to waive off the exam fees of all students of Classes 10 and 12 for the academic session of 2021-22 as a one-time measure.
Udit Prakash Rai, Director of Education, Delhi, wrote to the chairperson of CBSE, talking about the atrocities that Covid-19 had wreaked on the lives of people.
Many have lost loved ones while many others have lost their jobs with businesses shutting across the world due to the pandemic’s impact, he said.
Letters from parents expressing inability to pay exam fees
Rai said that a number of letters had been received from parents who said they would be unable to pay the exam fees due to losing their income and livelihood in the pandemic.
Due to the reasons above, the director of education requested CBSE to waive off exam fee of all students of Classes 10 and 12 studying in all government-, government-aided, Patrachar Vidyalaya, NDMC, Delhi Cantonment Board, and Dept of Social Welfare schools, for the academic session 2021-22 as a one-time measure.
