23rd May 2022, Delhi-The ‘Happy Classroom’ Capacity Building Programme (CBP) is built on the concept that “happy teachers create happy classrooms!” On the 19th of May 2022, Ms Neha Sadana and Ms Anjalika Kapoor from Bosco Public School attended a day-long training session of the CBP’Happiness Classroom’ programme at VVDAV School in Vikaspuri. This approach tries to include pleasure into all classroom teaching-learning processes, resulting in increased student satisfaction. Dr Manisha Sharma (Vice Principal, Venkateshwara International, Dwarka), the resource person, focuses on fostering self-awareness of emotions and sentiments in order to self-regulate reactions in various situations. She encouraged instructors to invest in their connections with their coworkers and pupils. The seminar also provided insight into the causes of student misbehaviour and how a teacher might respond in such situations by knowing “why” children act the way they do. Through group activities, role-playing, music, and recitations of poems, for example. Through stimulating activities, she brought happiness and enthusiasm to the group of instructors. She emphasised that using ‘hands-on’ teaching approaches to pique students’ attention can improve classroom learning effectiveness. The event served as an encouraging reminder to all of the mentors in attendance to work tirelessly to build a joyful classroom and make learning a pleasurable experience for both students and instructors.
