A Story Telling Teachers Workshop was conducted at GBN Sr Sec School Sector 21D Faridabad
We have all grown up on stories narrated to us by our grandparents, parents and other elders in the family. But, with modern tools of technology, the modes of traditional storytelling have become less common and the medium is getting reinvented, as it were, to match the times. So, to equip our teachers with the same a story telling workshop was held for the kindergarten and primary teachers by the renowned story teller Ms. Shivani Kanodia. Storytelling is one of the oldest forms of communication and still plays a very important role in education, particularly for younger children. In this workshop, the teachers learnt that incorporating storytelling into their repertoire of teaching skills can enhance student engagement with almost any subject. They also learnt about storytelling as a way of organizing information, conveying emotions, and building a sense of community in the classroom. The teachers were also taught importance of telling stories in classrooms, performing a story in an engaging way using voice modulation, facial expressions and body language and understanding and creating stories around concepts.
