12 Uttar Pradesh education plans:State-level education institute ranking, board exam changes and more

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister on Wednesday described an elaborate education plan for the state that includes the establishment of a state-level education institute ranking system, board exam changes, and much more.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday made an education action plan for the state that includes the establishment of a state-level ranking structure for educational establishments, similar to the NIRF, to promote "healthy competition." He also requested that officials work with athletes to develop the state's new sports policy.

"On the lines of NIRF, a SIRF should be started. It will help foster healthy competition among institutes and make everyone strive for improvement. It will also help students in securing admissions, and also the placement agencies in selecting institutions," the CM said, as per PTI.

In 2015, the union education ministry (then known as the Union Human Resource Development) introduced the National Institutional Ranking Methodology (NIRF) as a framework for ranking educational institutions across the country.

"A new sports policy for the state should be prepared at the earliest. The help of sports professionals should be sought for this," the CM said.

He said that the education sector had been in the grasp of the "education mafia" for a long time, but that his government had ensured that exams were "cheating-free."

Here is a list of the education plans as mentioned by CM Yogi Adityanath:

1. The establishment of a state-level ranking structure of education institutes.

2. New courses such as drone technology, the internet, cyber security, and data science should be introduced to the curriculum, the CM said, emphasizing the importance of preparing "skilled youths" to meet market demands.

3. The CM requested that the development of the Major Dhyanchand Sports University in Meerut is expedited and that an "eminent sportsperson" be appointed as its vice-chancellor.

4. He instructed officials to establish a career counseling center at each institute

5. The CM asked officials to provide government school instructors with cashless treatment and provide money for uniforms and other items to kids via direct cash transfer within the next six months.

6. Yogi Adityanath asked officials to devise a strategy for establishing an international pharmacy, a bioengineering research institute, and a school of planning and urban management.

7. Adityanath also proposed a new format for the state board's Class 12 test by 2025, and for Class 10 by` 2023.

8. He argued for the implementation of internships for students in Classes 9 and 11 under the supervision of skilled experts.

9. The CM stated that a Sanskrit Education Directorate should be established within two years. He proposed that the Sampurnanand Sanskrit University in Varanasi establish an online Sanskrit education program that would cover the "traditional Sanskrit" notions of 'Karmkand', 'Vastu Shastra', and astrology.

10. He also instructed officials to hire teachers at all levels, including Yoga instructors, and to ensure that all government schools have access to Wifi.

11. He also stated that each school should have its own website, keep track of all pupils' email addresses, and use a biometric attendance system.

The Uttar Pradesh CM has asked officials to complete by 2023 the first phase of three new institutions in Saharanpur, Aligarh, and Azamgarh: Ma Shakumbari University, Aligarh, and Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University, Aligarh.

12. He also requested that Japanese language instruction be provided to the students, citing a need for workers in Japan.
